Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a non-traumatic method of manually exfoliating the skin on the face by removing the outermost layers of dead skin cells leaving the skin smooth and rejuvenated. It also helps to treat uneven skin, acne scarring, fine lines, and the light vellus hair or "peach fuzz" on the face. We are the only spa in the area to perform this beneficial treatment for the skin. Because it is a healthy therapy for the skin everyone can benefit from it.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-invasive method of mechanical exfoliation. It removes the outermost layers of dead skin cells on the face, neck, and chest. It uses a medium of exfoliation such as crystals and a light vacuum to sweep away the dead skin cells and promote circulation. Microdermabrasion can help decrease superficial hyper-pigmentation, diminish fine lines, and shallow acne scars. It helps to even out and rejuvenate the skin. By removing the dead skin cells, skin care products can go on the skin smoother, and penetrate the skin with more ease allowing them to be more effective

Laser Hair Removal

An intense pulsating beam of light passes through the skin to individual hair follicles. The heat of the laser damages the hair follicle, which decreases future hair growth. Laser hair removal is most effective for people who have light skin with dark hair. It typically takes several treatments to provide an extended hair free period. Once a desired result is achieved, periodic maintenance may be needed

Luminaria Aesthetics is a part of The Cosmetic Surgery Center and our esthetician (Mary Ellen) works closely with Dr. Vandemoer and his patients to be sure that they receive unparalleled treatments and care in conjunction with any cosmetic procedures performed. Often Dr. Vandemoer will work with Mary Ellen to help prepare a patients' skin for a surgery, and/or provide care after a surgical procedure is completed to promote skin health.
